Job Description

A leading investment management firm is urgently seeking an experienced Asset & Liability Manager (ALM) to join its Trading Desk in Ikoyi, Lagos.

This critical role will drive effective balance sheet management, optimize liquidity, and mitigate financial risks to enhance overall profitability and firm stability.

Key responsibilities include managing and optimizing the firm’s balance sheet, overseeing liquidity management strategies, and monitoring interest rate risk and other financial exposures.

You will collaborate closely with the Trading Desk, develop and implement ALM frameworks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the firm’s balance sheet, ensuring efficient asset-liability alignment
  • Oversee liquidity management strategies to maintain adequate funding levels
  • Monitor and manage interest rate risk and other financial exposures
  • Collaborate closely with the Trading Desk to support strategic decision-making
  • Develop and implement ALM frameworks, policies, and reporting structures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk guidelines

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years’ experience in Asset & Liability Management, Treasury, or Balance Sheet Management (preferably within asset management, investment banking, or capital markets)
  • Strong expertise in liquidity management, interest rate risk, and trading operations
  • Proven track record managing complex ALM strategies in a fast-paced environment
  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA/MSc) is required
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ICAN) will be an added advantage
