The Programmer's University is seeking a skilled Backend Developer Instructor with expertise in Node.js to join our remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering engaging curriculum for aspiring developers, primarily across Africa. Your responsibilities will include recording video lessons, creating practical exercises and assessments, providing valuable student support, and offering constructive feedback on projects. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our platform's backend features, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Record structured backend lessons including video and code walkthroughs.
- Develop exercises, mini-projects, and assessments for students.
- Provide student support by answering questions and assisting with debugging.
- Grade student projects using clear rubrics and deliver actionable feedback.
- Build and maintain backend features for The Programmer's University platform.
- Collaborate on platform improvements and bug fixes, offering frontend support as needed.
- Maintain code quality, documentation, and adherence to best practices across repositories.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Node.js backend development (Express or NestJS).
- Solid understanding of REST API design, validation, and error handling.
- Experience with authentication/authorization mechanisms such as JWT and role-based permissions.
- Proficiency with databases, including MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL/MySQL.
- Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to beginners.
- Comfortable recording videos (screen and voice) and writing clear instructions.
- Basic frontend development experience sufficient for collaboration and minor fixes.
- Reliable communication skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver consistently.
