Job Description

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Belgium is seeking a diligent Data Entry Operator to join our mission in Maiduguri. This is a definite contract position focused on ensuring the accurate and efficient management of critical medical data.

In this role, you will be responsible for entering patient information, updating records, and maintaining the integrity of our mission's database. Your work will directly support our medical teams in providing essential healthcare services to those in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter medical data (e.g., patient data, dates of visit, content of prescription, viral load) into the mission's database regularly and according to MSF protocols.
  • Compile data from MSF structures and collaborating health facilities.
  • Assist in the search for missing data.
  • Update files of existing patients and make necessary corrections.
  • Perform regular backups of all processed data.
  • Maintain and care for all provided equipment, ensuring the recording area is clean and tidy, with special attention to patient files.
  • Report any data management issues to your superior.
  • Generate statistical reports as required by the medical team.
  • Ensure, promote, and maintain confidentiality regarding all registered information.
  • Encode data for two IDP camps and one iCCM site.
  • Encode data for seasonal activities such as Malaria test and treat.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data entry or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and databases.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to report issues promptly.
