Job Description
Buffer is seeking a dynamic Senior Developer Advocate to join our fully remote Engineering team. This pivotal role involves shaping our API and developer experience, fostering a vibrant developer community, and contributing to the growth of small businesses.
You will act as a technical liaison, bridging the gap between external developers and our internal teams. Your work will directly influence our product roadmap and the expansion of our developer ecosystem.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve escalated API-specific support tickets.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for the customer support team on API-related inquiries.
- Cultivate and engage with our developer community, particularly on Discord.
- Create and distribute educational and promotional content, including blog posts, social media threads, and webinars.
- Represent Buffer at industry conferences and events.
- Enhance developer documentation in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Develop proof-of-concept integrations for third-party developers.
- Identify and pursue partnership and co-marketing opportunities within developer ecosystems.
- Provide insights to the engineering team to shape the API roadmap.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in developer relations or developer advocacy, ideally for several years.
- Strong software engineering background.
- Deep expertise in APIs, including writing technical content and building prototypes.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex technical topics.
- Experience engaging with online developer communities.
- Ability to operate effectively across engineering, marketing, and support teams.
- Proactive in identifying opportunities for ecosystem expansion.
- Self-driven, empathetic, and committed to creating an inclusive environment.
- Previous customer support or service experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- A creator mindset with a connection to content creation or creator tools.
- Exceptional written communication skills.
- A growth mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and continuous learning.
