Job Description
Daystar Power Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of our advanced solar and hybrid power solutions deployed at client sites.
You will be responsible for implementing robust operational and maintenance procedures, collaborating with your team to achieve a minimum system uptime of 99.5%, and managing site operating costs effectively. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting technical issues, conducting performance monitoring, and ensuring the longevity of our assets through best-practice maintenance standards.
This position requires a proactive engineer who can travel as needed, maintain strict adherence to QHSE protocols, and foster strong client relationships through professional communication and timely issue resolution. Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Implement operational and maintenance procedures for company assets at client sites.
- Ensure consistent performance and compliance with technical standards.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve minimum system uptime of 99.5%.
- Manage site operating costs, including diesel usage and consumables.
- Ensure clients adhere to operational procedures and designated operating hours.
- Coordinate with Finance for timely and accurate billing and collections.
- Apply best-practice maintenance standards for all assets (generators, batteries, inverters, solar panels).
- Travel to various sites across Nigeria based on operational requirements.
- Ensure strict compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) protocols.
- Conduct installation, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and corrective maintenance.
- Maintain accurate service records, site reports, and maintenance logs.
- Support customer relations through professional communication and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with internal units (Projects, NOC, SCM, QHSE) for seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in equipment maintenance, power systems, or renewable energy operations.
- Good knowledge of diesel generators and rectifier systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and customer-facing skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Passion for renewable energy.
- Willingness to travel within assigned regions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; advanced Excel or PowerPoint is an advantage.
- HSE certification is an added advantage.
- Flexible to travel domestically and internationally.
