Job Description

Save the Children is seeking dedicated Field Assistants to join the Reaching Out-of-School Children (ROOSC) project across 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Kaduna State, Nigeria. This volunteer position is crucial for enhancing community engagement and ensuring the success of our initiative to improve access to quality primary education for marginalized children. You will play a vital role in establishing and maintaining feedback and accountability systems, directly contributing to the project's impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, document, and refer feedback and complaints from children and adults in the community.
  • Sensitize communities on feedback and complaint reporting channels.
  • Share project information clearly with beneficiaries and community stakeholders.
  • Assist with monitoring activities at learning centers and during field visits.
  • Translate feedback from local languages into English when required.
  • Support data organization and reporting under supervision of MEAL staff.
  • Participate in routine field activities related to education and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in community engagement, field work, or data collection.
  • Strong understanding of local communities and languages within Kaduna State.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic ability to use smartphones or tablets for data collection.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to project communities.
  • Knowledge of child safeguarding, education, or accountability systems is an added advantage.
