Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team and ensure the robust performance of our telecommunications network. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the hands-on management and maintenance of all active network equipment and POP operations. Your expertise will be critical in guaranteeing optimal performance, seamless end-to-end connectivity, and unwavering network availability. You will execute essential preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, conduct long-haul fiber route surveys, and perform installations of DWDM/SDH systems. Utilizing advanced tools like OTDR, you will swiftly resolve faults to minimize Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).

Furthermore, you will manage emergency and permanent network restorations, including critical tasks like OFC stringing, splicing, and tensioning, often in challenging terrains. This position also involves overseeing inventory, tools, test equipment, and contractors, while providing crucial remote support to our Network Operations Center (NOC) and Headquarters. Maintaining strong technical relationships with clients and stakeholders is paramount. You will also be responsible for preparing detailed technical and performance reports, fostering team collaboration, and promoting knowledge sharing to contribute to the overall success of our network operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all active network equipment and POP operations, ensuring optimal performance, end-to-end connectivity, and stable network availability.
  • Execute routine preventive and corrective maintenance, long-haul fiber route surveys, installations (DWDM/SDH), and fault resolution using tools such as OTDR to minimize MTTR.
  • Handle emergency and permanent network restorations, including OFC stringing, splicing, tensioning, and restoration planning in critical or difficult terrains.
  • Oversee inventory, tools, test equipment, contractors, and field projects while providing remote support to NOC, HQ, and maintaining strong technical relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit detailed technical and performance reports, support team collaboration, promote knowledge sharing, and contribute to the overall success of network operations.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of proven Field Service experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot using OTDR, Splicing Machine, and LSPM
  • Knowledge of Inverter/Rectifier operations and service of technical equipment
  • English literacy
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
