Job Description

Join Diebold Nixdorf and become a vital part of connecting people to commerce. As a Field Service Technician, you will be instrumental in automating, digitizing, and transforming the banking and retail experiences for millions globally.

In this role, you will install, debug, and provide technical maintenance for product and component hardware and software, primarily at customer premises. You will conduct scheduled inspections, cleaning, and other services, along with performing minor product repairs within your assigned territory. A key responsibility includes inspecting products for correct operation, resolving any noted issues, and escalating them according to established procedures.

You will also be responsible for scheduling services, completing all required paperwork, and working closely with customers to ensure their satisfaction with service delivery and their understanding of product functionality. This position requires you to reside within or near the Reseda/Van Nuys, CA area, covering territories including Ventura, Studio City, Malibu, and Granada Hills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain familiarity with Field Service Technician practices and procedures.
  • With guidance and/or in conjunction with more experienced technicians, perform incident handling: utilize diagnostic tools to perform troubleshooting via detailed analysis of hardware and software failures.
  • Perform hardware repairs on a component level.
  • Clean and adjust mechanical components.
  • Configure and install applicable software.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to documented procedures.
  • Refill consumables as directed.
  • Perform installs, moves, adds, changes, and removes (IMAC/R) of hardware and software products.
  • Instruct and train customers on the usage and operation of installed hardware and software.
  • Participate in regular hardware and software trainings (on the job, classroom, and web-based).
  • Participate in the implementation of measures to achieve agreed KPIs.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Field Services.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Driver's license and driving record that satisfies DN's fleet requirements.
  • PC literacy and good knowledge and application of the relevant tools and methods.
  • Product knowledge of relevant industry and basic ITIL skills preferred.
  • Ability to attend training classes in Canton, Ohio for 1-2 weeks (paid training, multiple trainings).
  • Ability to lift and move heavy loads, stand most of the day, climb, bend, and stoop while working on equipment.
  • Acceptance of exposure to the outside elements.
  • Shift adaptability, including on-call rotation for evenings and weekends.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to organize and inventory truck stock parts and tools.
  • Sense of urgency, organizational skills, professional presence, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to pass MVR, background, and drug test where required.
