Job Description

DLM Group is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Legal to lead our legal department. This senior role is crucial for navigating the complex regulatory landscape of the financial services industry and ensuring robust legal compliance.

As the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters, providing expert counsel on financial transactions, and managing critical relationships with regulatory bodies such as the CBN and SEC. Your leadership will be instrumental in structuring complex deals and mitigating legal risks.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all legal operations and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Provide strategic legal counsel on complex financial transactions, including capital raising, M&A, and debt issuances.
Manage and lead regulatory engagements with the CBN and SEC.
Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests.
Lead and mentor the legal team, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years post-call experience.
At least 5 years in a senior legal leadership role within a financial institution or top-tier commercial law firm specializing in financial services.
Deep expertise in CBN and SEC regulations.
Proven track record in structuring and executing complex financial transactions.
LL.B and BL degrees.
A relevant Master’s degree (LL.M or MBA) is an added advantage.
