Job Description

The Faith and Cultural Champions for Healthy Women and Girls Project (2024-2027) aims to transform norms, enhance knowledge, and mobilize faith and cultural leaders to champion positive change for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Nigeria. The Centre for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI) is partnering with Faith and Cultural Champions (FCCs) to implement strategies that foster sustainable, community-driven social norms changes, ultimately improving health and development outcomes for AGYW in Kaduna and Kano States.

This project involves establishing Advisory Faith and Cultural Champions (AFCCs) and identifying Implementing Faith and Cultural Champions (IFCCs). The AFCC group provides crucial project advisory support and cultivates an enabling environment for the FCC Project's success.

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Liaison Officer to serve as the vital link between the AFCC Group, the internal project team, and external partners. This role is instrumental in ensuring project alignment, facilitating clear and impactful communication, and driving effective collaboration across various functions. Success in this position requires significant experience in stakeholder management, strategic advocacy, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and finalization of AFCC’s annual work plan, ensuring alignment with project objectives and organizational compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Programme Officer (SPO) and Senior RMEL Officer to assist AFCC leadership in developing weekly and monthly activity action plans.
  • Maintain and regularly update the AFCC information registry and database.
  • Coordinate, refine, and track official correspondence between AFCCs and external entities.
  • Act as a liaison between the AFCC and the FCC team, providing timely feedback and recommendations.
  • Coordinate AFCC-related meetings and key engagements with IFCCs and external stakeholders under the guidance of the Technical Advisor (SBC) and Project Director.
  • Support the AFCC and FCC project teams in identifying and nurturing strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Provide day-to-day technical and administrative coordination for the AFCC secretariat at the state office.
  • Liaise with FCC finance and logistics officers to ensure seamless activity execution for AFCC members.
  • Organize meetings, events, and joint activities, including managing documentation, record-keeping, and follow-up.
  • Collate and review field monitoring reports, ensuring high-quality, timely submission to the Senior Programme Officer.
  • Record and disseminate detailed minutes and summary reports for all AFCC monthly meetings and activities.
  • Maintain formal, comprehensive documentation of all internal and external engagements involving high-level stakeholders.
  • Manage and regularly update a centralized database/registry of AFCC membership and contact information.
  • Identify and draft compelling impact narratives documenting AFCC achievements for donor reports and advocacy materials.
  • Maintain a systematic log to track policy changes, community shifts, and high-level commitments generated through AFCC influence.
  • Document and report all overtures from external partners and entities to the Project Director and Technical Advisor (SBC).
  • Document and report the outcome of advocacy visits to the SPO.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Technical Advisor (SBC) and Project Director.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field with five years of relevant professional experience; OR
  • University degree in one of the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in stakeholder management, strategic advocacy, and community engagement.
  • Experience in managing programs or leading initiatives with a focus on faith and/or cultural leaders.
  • Proficiency in event planning and execution for high-level in-person forums.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with influential and diverse stakeholders, including government representatives, traditional leaders, religious leaders, and implementing partners.
  • In-depth understanding of the local social, cultural, and security context (e.g., in Kaduna and/or Kano State).
  • Fluency and literacy in Hausa and English languages.
