Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous Laytime/Demurrage Specialist to join our team in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing charterparty terms, recaps, and contracts within our specialized software. You will also perform detailed laytime/demurrage calculations for relevant port calls, utilizing the application and supporting documentation.
A strong understanding of charterparties, key laytime/demurrage terms, and contract provisions related to voyages is essential. Knowledge of terminology within the project cargo and heavy lift segments, as well as marine and terminal operations, is a requirement for success in this position.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the transcription of terms included in Charterparty, Recap, Contracts within the company provided software.
- Carry out the Laytime/Demurrage calculation using the application supporting documentation for the relevant port call.
- Ensure a good understanding of Charterparties, key laytime/demurrage terms, contracts and provisions related to the voyage.
- Apply knowledge and understanding of terminology used in the Project cargo and Heavy lift segment, marine and terminal operations.
- Take lead on Customers claims portfolio.
- Lead projects specific for their customer portfolio.
- Deliver consistently with attention to detail & quality.
- Analyze data accurately and make suggestions & improvements.
- Seek opportunities to maximise performance and personal development.
- Provide suggestions and drive development proactively.
Qualifications
- Graduation required.
- MBA in Shipping or an equivalent degree.
- A minimum of 4 years work experience with a Shipping company (mainly handling Charter-parties, vessel operations or equivalent).
- At least 3 years experience in Laytime / demurrage, preferably within Project cargo / Heavy lift segment.
- Good knowledge of written & spoken English.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others as a team.
- Technology sound with regards to using digital applications.
