Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational readiness and safety of our heavy-duty vehicle fleet, which includes prominent brands such as DAF, HOWO, and MACK.

Your primary responsibilities will involve conducting thorough inspections, performing routine maintenance, and executing complex repairs on all mechanical components of these trucks. You will collaborate closely with specialized technicians, including AC specialists, auto electricians, and panel beaters, to deliver comprehensive vehicle servicing and ensure all trucks meet stringent safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and steering systems.
  • Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks.
  • Repair and maintain truck air conditioning systems (in collaboration with AC Technician).
  • Handle electrical troubleshooting including wiring, lighting systems, batteries, and alternators.
  • Carry out body repairs and accident damage assessment (in collaboration with Panel Beater).
  • Use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment properly.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of HSE/Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience working with heavy-duty trucks (DAF, HOWO, MACK etc.).
  • Good knowledge of truck mechanical, electrical, and AC systems.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
