Job Description
Hello Products is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance department in Oregun, Lagos. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation of our machinery and equipment.
Your primary responsibilities will include the installation and commissioning of new machinery, performing comprehensive preventive, condition-based, and breakdown maintenance. You will be tasked with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maximize operational reliability.
The role also involves conducting root cause analysis for mechanical faults, analyzing equipment performance data to identify areas for optimization, and ensuring accurate documentation of all maintenance activities. Collaboration with controllers, engineers, and production teams is essential for addressing mechanical issues and enhancing system performance.
A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards during all maintenance and repair work is paramount. You will also support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment according to specifications.
- Carry out preventive, condition-based, and breakdown maintenance on all mechanical equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems to ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational reliability.
- Perform root cause analysis for mechanical faults and propose corrective actions.
- Analyze data and equipment performance records to identify areas for improvement and optimize machine efficiency.
- Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, machine safety checks, and repair records.
- Collaborate with controllers, engineers, and production teams to address mechanical issues and improve system performance.
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards during all maintenance and repair work.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
Qualifications
- HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Preferably, experience in the FMCG industry.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical faults.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Experience with maintenance documentation and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
