Job Description
Reliance Health is seeking a dedicated Associate Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our clinical services team in Lagos. This vital role supports our mission to provide accessible and high-quality healthcare by performing essential laboratory tests that aid in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
As an Associate Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic results. This involves meticulous sample handling, operating advanced laboratory equipment, and maintaining stringent quality and safety standards. You will also contribute to the laboratory's Quality Management System, upholding best practices for efficient, patient-focused healthcare delivery.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and label samples such as blood, urine, or tissue with utmost care.
- Ensure samples are maintained in a clean, safe, and appropriate condition, preventing mix-ups or spoilage.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes and analyzers, ensuring proper functioning before and after use.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (gloves, coats, masks), and maintain a clean, germ-free laboratory environment.
- Dispose of waste and sharp objects safely and effectively.
- Perform tests accurately and double-check work to minimize errors.
- Document all results clearly and maintain comprehensive records.
- Prioritize and conduct urgent tests efficiently to support timely patient treatment.
- Communicate results to physicians as soon as they are available.
- Organize workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Ensure the accuracy and clarity of all reported results.
- Maintain the security and completeness of all records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (BMLS) or Bachelor of Science, Medical Laboratory Sciences (BSc MLS).
- Current practicing license issued by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Completed NYSC with evidence of NYSC discharge certificate or exemption.
- Ability to reside within a 10km radius of the specific RFC applied for or demonstrate a capacity for easy daily commute.
