Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Officer to join our growing procurement firm in Lekki.

In this role, you will be instrumental in managing all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Your responsibilities will span from handling daily financial operations to preparing crucial financial statements and managing audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting transactions
  • Publish financial statements in time
  • Manage statutory audit process and ensure prompt closure
  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Ensure timely bank payments
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
  • Audit financial transactions and documents
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
  • Comply with financial policies and regulations
  • Work with other accounting organization functions, including payroll and AP to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office application (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
  • ACA/ACCA or Equivalent is a plus
  • Good understanding of Tax compliance
  • Oil & Gas servicing experience is a plus
  • 2-3 years experience.
