Job Description

U-Connect is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our HR team in Lagos Island. This hybrid role offers one remote day per week.

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely salary processing for both clients and internal staff. Your duties will include processing monthly payroll, handling statutory deductions, maintaining payroll records, and resolving payroll-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll for clients and internal staff
  • Maintain payroll records and employee compensation data
  • Handle statutory deductions (PAYE, Pension, NHF, NSITF, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with payroll policies and labor regulations
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconciliation statements
  • Resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees and clients
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on compensation matters

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Accountant
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and statutory deductions
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Must be Male
  • Must be Non-Yoruba
  • Must reside on the Island or be willing to commute
