Yiaga Africa is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to lead critical election initiatives. This full-time role, initially for six months, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strengthening democratic processes.
You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical oversight for election observation, reform advocacy, and voter education programs. This includes developing and implementing election projects, managing budgets, and supervising program staff.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of democracy and governance, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field. A background in Political Science, Public Policy, or International Relations is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for election observation, reform advocacy, voter education, and integrity initiatives.
- Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of election projects aligned with organizational and donor priorities.
- Design and oversee election observation methodologies, including PRVT, for credible data-driven assessments.
- Manage workplans, budgets, risk frameworks, and performance indicators.
- Supervise and mentor program staff and field teams for quality delivery.
- Coordinate partnerships with electoral bodies, CSOs, government agencies, and development partners.
- Represent the organization in stakeholder meetings, media engagements, and public forums.
- Oversee production of research reports, policy briefs, and technical publications.
- Support fundraising, proposal development, and donor engagement.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and electoral standards.
- Identify emerging electoral risks and develop adaptive strategies to strengthen democratic participation.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience working on democracy and governance issues, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Advanced degree in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field.
- Experience managing multi-donor funded projects with demonstrated impact.
- Strong understanding of elections, legislative engagement, civic innovation, and/or digital democracy.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and building partnerships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools.
