Job Description

The Nigerian Red Cross Society is seeking a dedicated Branch Health and Care Officer to join their team in Imo State.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing health programs, developing branch health plans, and supporting crucial health initiatives such as vaccination drives, hygiene promotion, and maternal health programs. You will also play a key part in coordinating volunteers, supporting emergency preparedness and response, and monitoring the impact of health projects.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and manage health programmes and activities at the branch and divisional levels
Develop branch health plans and budgets based on identified community needs
Support health initiatives such as vaccination, hygiene promotion, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and First Aid programmes
Coordinate and build the capacity of volunteers involved in health programmes
Support emergency preparedness and response to disasters and epidemics
Monitor, evaluate, and report on health projects implemented at the branch
Collaborate with government health departments and partners in health sector activities
Strengthen community programmes such as Mother’s Clubs and maternal and child health initiatives

Qualifications

University degree in Public Health or a related health discipline
Minimum of 3 years experience in health interventions or programme management
Strong leadership, program planning, monitoring, and reporting skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Experience in emergency health response or humanitarian work is an advantage
