Job Description
GBfoods is seeking a diligent Quality Assurance Analyst to join our BU Nigeria team in Lagos. This permanent, full-time, on-site role is integral to upholding our commitment to excellence in the food and beverage industry.
In this position, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all processing areas and the laboratory maintain impeccable sanitary conditions. You will oversee the internal calibration of equipment, providing timely updates on its status across all operational zones. A key responsibility will be to track and ensure the consistent achievement of departmental and factory-wide Quality and Food Safety objectives.
Your role will involve meticulous documentation of all activities, reports, and communications with stakeholders. You will also lead the efficient use of laboratory reagents and consumables, and champion Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) throughout the factory. Ensuring data integrity for all analyses and tests, and maintaining compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) are paramount.
Furthermore, you will lead process improvement initiatives, shelf-life stability studies, and validation processes. This includes managing deviation reports, testing protocols, and trend analyses. You will be responsible for handling competition analysis, product insights, and addressing non-conforming or potentially unsafe raw, pack, and finished products.
Compliance with 5s, HACCP, and all other applicable Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment tools and policies will be a core function. You will also lead efforts to reduce Non-Quality Costs (NQC), including complaints and market returns, and ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures and foster a strong Food Safety culture through training and adherence.
You will support process and operations improvement projects, and supervise initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and food safety. Your responsibilities will extend to all laboratory analyses, including water, raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, as well as ensuring recipe compliance and adherence to blending plans. Any other related tasks assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Shift Supervisor will also fall within your purview.

Qualifications
- HND/BSc. in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Technology, or equivalent.
- Relevant professional certification is a plus.
- 2-5 years’ progressive work experience in relevant roles in culinary, food/beverage processing.
- Ability to interpret specifications and standards.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in root-cause analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent relationship skills.
