Job Description

Indra is a leading global technology and consulting company dedicated to partnering with clients on their core business operations. We are recognized for our proprietary solutions in Transport and Defence, and our expertise in Digital Transformation and Information Technologies.

We are currently experiencing significant growth in the UK and are seeking an Operations Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance. You will be an integral part of our collaborative Quality team, working closely with engineering, operations, service management, and project stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include adapting and maintaining our Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and contractual requirements, developing quality procedures, and conducting internal audits. You will also be responsible for reviewing project documentation, defining the Contract Quality Control Plan, and managing non-conformities through to closure. Measuring quality performance, performing trend analysis, and leading root cause analysis for sustainable solutions are key aspects of this role. Additionally, you will manage supplier and subcontractor quality, including inspections and audits, and lead lessons learned initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adapt, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain quality procedures, plans, and documentation.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits to monitor compliance with procedures, regulations, and standards.
  • Review project documentation and reports to ensure quality prior to approval.
  • Define and maintain the Contract Quality Control Plan based on service milestones and project planning.
  • Supervise verification activities and final deliverables prior to customer acceptance.
  • Register, track, and manage non-conformities, including corrective and improvement actions.
  • Measure quality performance against defined quality objectives and perform trend analysis.
  • Define corrective actions based on performance indicators and trend analysis.
  • Establish and maintain a Supplier Quality Plan, including inspections and supplier audits.
  • Review supplier performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead lessons learned analysis and ensure outcomes are documented, communicated, and applied.
  • Measure and analyze the cost of poor quality and associated corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and ensure effective, sustainable solutions are implemented to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer or QA Specialist in complex technical projects.
  • Experience working with UK public-sector clients, ideally within transport or infrastructure environments.
  • Quality management certifications (e.g., IRCA Internal Auditor ISO 9001, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer).
  • Service Management knowledge (ITIL Foundation or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of international and UK quality management standards.
  • Proven experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
