Job Description

Heritage Petroleum Company Limited is seeking a dynamic Reservoir Engineering Lead to drive innovation in oil and gas production.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and providing technical assurance for all reservoir engineering activities. Your expertise will be crucial in recommending techniques to enhance overall oil and gas recovery efficiently, aligning with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key accountabilities include recommending fit-for-purpose analyses, providing technical assurance on reservoir screenings and reserve audits, and leading technically challenging projects. You will also quantify development plan risks, manage field reviews, influence business strategies with sound engineering advice, and develop Key Performance Indicators to foster a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recommends fit for purpose analyses such as, DCA, Classical, Numerical Reservoir engineering techniques for Opportunity evaluation (New Wells, NRT’s Workover, IOR, EOR).
  • Provides technical assurance to Senior Management on all, reservoir screenings, reserve audits and recommends optimal strategies for improved oil and gas reserves progression.
  • Assumes the lead role on more technically challenging projects and provides learnings to junior reservoir engineers by way of coaching engagements.
  • Quantifies all risk in development plans based on reservoir, facilities, infrastructural uncertainties and communicates same to Senior Management.
  • Manages Field Reviews including IOR Scheme(s) and ensures close out of Reservoir Engineering action items.
  • Influences the business, using sound reservoir engineering advice, when pursuing strategic objectives of Acquisitions, JV’s and Relinquishments.
  • Develops Key Performance Indicators and cascades through the reporting line.
  • Utilizes the inhouse Performance Management System to effectively lead a Team of professionals by developing talent and cultivating a high-performance culture.
  • Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Petroleum/Reservoir Engineering and Production Operations with a minimum of five (5) years in a supervisory role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
