Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Social Media Manager to cultivate a strong, engaging, and purposeful online presence for Pouchers, making our brand a destination users actively choose to follow.

This role requires a deep immersion in the digital landscape, understanding that effective social media goes beyond scheduled posts to genuine engagement in conversations and the creation of shareable, impactful content. You will be responsible for developing and executing a social media strategy that reflects our minimalist, declarative, and confident brand voice, building trust within the fintech space.

Your primary objective will be to grow our audience across platforms like X, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, ensuring content is native and optimized for each. You will live in the replies and DMs, actively participating in relevant conversations and adapting to trending topics within fintech, freelancing, and remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post daily across X, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, ensuring content is native to each platform.
  • Grow the audience on every platform, focusing on follower count, reach, and the quality of engaged users.
  • Own the social content calendar, planning weekly and monthly content aligned with brand strategy and upcoming needs.
  • Adapt long-form content from the content team into native formats such as threads, carousels, stories, and reels.
  • Actively engage in replies, DMs, and quote tweets, participating in relevant conversations.
  • Monitor internet trends in fintech, freelancing, and cross-border payments, identifying opportunities for brand participation.
  • Monitor competitor social media activity, providing concise weekly notes on their strategies and performance.
  • Surface and amplify user stories, testimonials, and mentions through engaging formats.
  • Coordinate with paid campaign teams to ensure organic and paid efforts are synergistic.
  • Brief the creative team on content needs, review their work, and ensure brand standards are met.
  • Track and report weekly on follower growth, engagement, clicks, and social-attributed signups to the Growth Lead.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing social media for a fintech brand with a strong, engaged following.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow an audience and discuss successes and failures using data beyond vanity metrics.
  • Deep familiarity with social media platforms and their respective best practices.
  • Fast and concise writing skills, capable of crafting effective captions, threads, and replies.
  • A strong sense of taste and an ability to identify and avoid overly promotional or inauthentic content.
  • Treats community engagement and replies as integral parts of the role.
  • Ability to receive briefs effectively and provide clear, constructive pushback when necessary.
  • Proactive and able to identify relevant content opportunities without constant direction.
