Job Description

Deloitte is seeking an experienced Manager to lead impactful Climate & Sustainability/ESG advisory engagements within its Assurance practice.

In this pivotal role, you will manage the end-to-end client engagement process, from strategic direction and work program development to team leadership and final reporting. You will be instrumental in guiding clients through complex sustainability challenges, including ESG reporting, climate change strategies, and sustainable finance, ensuring they meet evolving global standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of the overall Climate & Sustainability/ ESG advisory engagements, including identifying strategic direction of the work and supporting team members in project-related tasks.
  • Support the Partner/Associate Director in engagement budgeting and resource management process.
  • Be responsible for engagement and client acceptance procedures.
  • Develop/maintain strong working relationships with client's key business decision makers to communicate value and inform them of the firm's scope of services.
  • Take responsibility for supporting the Partner/ Associate Director in identifying and pursuing new advisory opportunities.
  • Identify, research, and help to resolve complex climate & sustainability/ESG assurance issues.
  • Identify/communicate trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to clients and potential clients. Demonstrate a deep understanding of client industry and marketplace.
  • Develop people by encouraging junior team members and successfully delegate to and manage them.
  • Actively follow the landscape for ESG communications, including ESG standards.
  • Continue to broaden own knowledge and experience within the alternative asset industry and ESG/Sustainability/Diversity space by educating self on evolving standards and best practices as well as attending relevant industry events.
  • Conduct eminence-building activities in ESG, enhancing the firm’s profile and thought leadership in the market.
  • Support business development initiatives to expand the ESG service offering portfolio and drive revenue growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional qualification in ACCA, CPA.
  • 5–8 years’ advisory experience, ideally with sustainability/ESG exposure.
  • Strong understanding of industry sustainability frameworks (e.g. GRI, SASB, TCFD, GHG Protocol).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in report writing and presentations.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability practices within financial institutions.
  • Experience in engagement and client acceptance procedures.
  • Experience in budgeting and resource management.
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve complex climate & sustainability/ESG assurance issues.
  • Ability to identify and communicate trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to clients.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Passion for sustainability and ESG issues.
  • Strong business acumen; able to convey ideas clearly in written and verbal formats.
  • Self-starter with strong organisational and decision-making skills.
  • Experience guiding teams and achieving common goals.
