Job Description

VRChat is seeking an experienced Head of Creative Studio to spearhead our live operations content pipeline. This critical role ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality 3D props and assets to our player base.

You will be responsible for owning and advancing our creative quality bar, bringing clarity, taste, and strong production leadership to make our content scalable and shippable. This is a highly collaborative leadership position where you will manage our internal art team, work with production leads, and partner with engineering to maintain a healthy content pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and operate the live ops content pipeline end-to-end, including planning, briefing, production tracking, reviews, and integration.
  • Steward and elevate VRChat’s creative strategy for live ops content, upholding high standards and evolving the system.
  • Partner with design and art management to align on creative direction, review norms, and quality standards.
  • Lead and support the internal art team with a collaborative, feedback-forward culture.
  • Manage external studio collaboration effectively through strong briefs and feedback loops.
  • Translate creative goals into shippable reality by partnering with engineering on asset requirements and integration.
  • Improve documentation, templates, and review checklists to reduce rework and increase throughput.
  • Make tradeoffs visible, keep stakeholders aligned, and drive clarity for creative teams.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in game development or real-time content production, with significant experience shipping ongoing content.
  • Proven ability to operate in collaborative environments, bringing structure and momentum without top-down hierarchy.
  • Strong experience working with external studios and vendors, delivering results through clear briefs and feedback.
  • Excellent creative judgment combined with the ability to build systems for consistent decision-making.
  • Comfort partnering with engineering and production to ensure asset performance and shippability.
  • Low-ego, high-agency individual with strong listening, alignment, and communication skills.
  • Bonus: Experience scaling art/content pipelines across multiple platforms.
  • Bonus: Experience evolving outsourcing strategy.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with UGC ecosystems, social platforms, or creator-driven content economies.
