Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance department in Yaba, Lagos.

This full-time, on-site role reports directly to the Managing Director and is responsible for providing comprehensive financial leadership. You will oversee critical functions including budgeting, treasury management, and process optimization, ensuring accurate reporting and strict regulatory compliance.

Your expertise will be vital in providing the financial analysis necessary to support high-level decision-making and drive business growth within our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the annual budgeting process, monitor performance against targets, and implement corrective actions for variances.
Oversee the timely preparation of management accounts and audited financial statements in compliance with statutory deadlines.
Manage the treasury function by projecting cash flows, monitoring daily balances, and securing adequate funding for operations.
Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and risk assessments to the Board and management.
Ensure all financial activities adhere to legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
Maintain and recommend upgrades for the computerized accounting system (SAGE) to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (MBA/Master’s is an advantage).
Professional certification (ACA or ACCA) is required.
Minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a finance leadership role (FC or CFO).
Proven experience in the manufacturing sector and a track record as a Finance Business Partner.
Proficiency in SAGE and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong commercial acumen, analytical problem-solving, and team management skills.
