Job Description

TotalEnergies Lubrifiants is seeking a motivated Apprentice Assistant Controller to join their dynamic financial control team within the Marketing & Services branch.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a global business unit operating across Europe, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific regions. You will be instrumental in supporting the financial steering of the Lubricants business unit, which encompasses Automotive, Industry, and Lubmarine sectors.

As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in monthly closing processes, financial performance analysis, and reporting. You will also contribute to budget preparation and support subsidiaries with data validation and process optimization.

This position provides comprehensive mentorship from experienced professionals, ensuring your professional development and successful completion of your diploma.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly closings, including variance analysis, performance commentary, and operational expense tracking.
  • Produce monthly reports and analyze the financial performance of subsidiaries (P&L, balance sheet, cash, volumes).
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and studies to support management decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development of budgets and long-term plans, and prepare restitution materials.
  • Support subsidiaries and Finance teams by ensuring data reliability, optimizing processes, and improving reporting tools (Excel, Power BI).
  • Coordinate with financial control and accounting departments.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Master 1 or Master 2 in Internal Audit, Finance, or Internal Control, seeking an apprenticeship.
  • Apprenticeship duration of one year, with a rhythm of 3 weeks in the company and 1 week at school, or 3 days in the company and 2 days at school.
  • Previous experience in management control is appreciated, providing solid financial knowledge and understanding of key financial aggregates (balance sheet, income statement, working capital requirement).
  • Demonstrated rigor, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools, particularly Excel and Power BI; knowledge of Power Apps is a plus.
  • Fluent in French and English, essential for an international professional environment.
