Job Description
Tetra Maritime is seeking a dedicated Support Instructor to join our team in Lagos. This role is vital in delivering specialized training for both deck and engine departments, ensuring our students meet stringent international maritime standards.
As a Support Instructor, you will leverage your extensive sea-going experience to educate and mentor aspiring seafarers. You will be responsible for imparting practical knowledge and theoretical understanding, preparing them for successful careers at sea.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver training on deck and engine operations according to approved curricula.
- Utilize STCW certifications and sea-going experience to provide practical instruction.
- Familiarize students with IMO Model Course requirements and industry best practices.
- Employ effective teaching methodologies and maritime education technologies.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of maritime regulations and training standards.
Qualifications
- Valid STCW certifications for Able Seafarer Deck / Engine.
- Valid oil / chemical tanker endorsements.
- Minimum of 7 years of sea-going experience as a Bosun, Able Seafarer, Motorman, or Fitter (deck or engine) on an ocean-going ship.
- Possession of a Certificate of an Administration approved Train the Trainer course.
- Familiarity with IMO Model Course requirements and other industry standards.
- Proficiency in using machinery, equipment, tools, and maritime education technologies.
