Job Description

Google is launching its esteemed Creative Fellowship program, offering a unique 6-month opportunity for emerging creative talent to gain hands-on experience within its diverse in-house creative departments.

This program is designed to immerse you in real-world projects, providing mentorship and exposure across teams such as Brand Studio, Creative Lab, Google Cloud Brand & Creative, and YouTube Creative Studio. You will contribute fresh perspectives and a strong 'maker-first' approach, fostering personal and professional growth in a dynamic environment.

Fellows will be based in the United States and are expected to work on-site, collaborating closely with experienced teams. This is a paid contractor role, offering a valuable stepping stone for those looking to build a career in the creative technology and media industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Google Doodles team with motion design, combining contemporary aesthetics with technical expertise in motion, 3D, and traditional animation.
  • Leverage a diverse toolkit to solve animation challenges across a broad spectrum of visual styles and illustration techniques.
  • Experiment with AI technology to support your creative process.
  • Undertake projects ranging from independent GIF animations for Doodles to collaborative short-form videos.
  • Approach projects conceptually, demonstrating versatility in developing original artwork, animating within existing assets, and executing designs that cohere with established systems.
  • Act as a maker who explores the capabilities of AI and pushes creative boundaries.
  • Bridge the gap between research and animation, turning technical glitches into art and building tools for creation.
  • Prototype and experiment with cutting-edge technologies to bring innovative ideas to life.
  • Blend creativity and technology, utilizing a foundation in front-end and back-end development, and AI technologies.
  • Bring brand stories to life by blending strong narratives with AI tools, managing projects from initial concept to final delivery.
  • Utilize AI to create original work, not just edit existing content.
  • Embrace experimentation and prototyping to bring fresh ideas to life across various brand initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Emerging creative thinkers with 0-5 years of experience.
  • Clear point of view and passion for making things and telling stories.
  • Ability to bring unique voice and craft to Google's creative teams.
  • Work authorization in the United States as of June 2026.
  • Legal age to work in the United States as of June 2026.
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English.
  • Ability to live in the city in which you are applying for a role.
  • Commitment to a full-time position for six months (mid-June 2026 – mid-December 2026).
  • Understanding of being employed as a freelancer via Google’s staffing partners.
  • Familiarity with contemporary design aesthetics and technical expertise in motion, 3D, and traditional animation (for Motion Designer role).
  • Comfort with experimenting with AI technology (for Motion Designer role).
  • Experience in bridging the gap between research and animation, and building creative tools (for Creative Technical Motion Artist role).
  • Proficiency in front-end development (TypeScript), back-end development (Python, node.js, Go), and AI technologies (for Creative Technologist role).
  • Interest in hardware, interfaces, and experimental UI (for Creative Technologist role).
