Job Description

We are seeking a diligent Internal Auditor to join our expanding team and play a crucial role in maintaining financial integrity and operational excellence across our diverse locations.

In this vital position, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive financial and operational audits. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating the robustness of internal controls, ensuring strict adherence to organizational policies, and verifying compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in safeguarding company assets by proactively identifying potential risks and proposing practical, effective solutions to enhance efficiency and mitigate losses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct continuous risk assessments to identify areas of potential exposure and develop work plans to mitigate identified risks.
  • Review internal controls, policies, and procedures for effectiveness and monitor compliance across all departments.
  • Monitor inventory flow, assist with stock counts, and verify inventory valuation for accuracy.
  • Coordinate loss prevention strategies and advise management on best practices to minimize shrinkage.
  • Draft and present detailed audit findings and analysis, recommending revisions and improvements to current practices.
  • Verify goods in high-risk areas and collaborate with management on effective solutions.
  • Work closely with the accounting function during external audits and vouch vendor invoices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of B.Sc./ HND in Accountancy or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Must possess a NYSC Discharged, Exemption, or Exclusion letter.
  • ICAN Certification is a significant advantage.
  • Proven experience in internal auditing, risk management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to draft clear, concise, and actionable audit reports.
  • Experience with inventory monitoring and stock count processes is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration and securing buy-in.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
