Job Description
Anoka & Associates is seeking a highly experienced Senior Counsel with a mandatory focus on litigation and debt recovery to join our esteemed legal practice in Victoria Island, Lagos.
In this critical role, you will lead and manage complex litigation cases from inception to resolution, handle debt recovery and enforcement proceedings, and represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation. You will also be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, providing expert legal advice on corporate and commercial matters, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage litigation cases from initiation to resolution.
- Handle debt recovery, enforcement, and related proceedings.
- Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents.
- Provide legal advice on corporate and commercial matters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Supervise and mentor junior associates.
Qualifications
- Qualified legal practitioner with a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 12 years post-call experience.
- Strong, proven experience in litigation and debt recovery (MANDATORY).
- Demonstrated track record of handling recovery cases and court proceedings.
- Excellent advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
