Job Description
Tetra Maritime, a leading global shipowner, is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Legal Officer to join its expanding team. This pivotal role is designed to enhance strategic communication and amplify the company's voice both internally and externally, ensuring alignment with ambitious growth objectives.
You will play a crucial part in building trust, fostering engagement, and delivering clarity across our worldwide operations and among our external partners. This position is integral to supporting our diverse range of activities and relationships.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute legal aspects of ship sale and purchase agreements.
- Provide expert advice on asset and corporate finance transactions.
- Oversee the legal structuring and execution of joint ventures and other corporate transactions.
- Engage in regulatory work and liaise with government agencies.
- Ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation across all operations.
- Collaborate closely with commercial teams on fast-moving legal matters.
- Develop and maintain strong inter-personal and project management skills.
Qualifications
- Over 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) at a leading corporate or law firm.
- Experience in Nigeria (top-tier national or multinational) or international law firms.
- Resident in Lagos.
- Expertise in shipping law is preferred, or high-class experience in commodities, oil and gas, finance, or aviation.
- Focus on non-contentious legal work.
- Proficiency in asset sale and purchase.
- Experience with bank facilities.
- Knowledge of share issue, sale, and purchase.
- Experience with joint ventures.
