Job Description
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking an AirOps Officer to manage and coordinate all air transport operations in Maiduguri. This role is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of passengers, luggage, and cargo, acting as a vital link between the local sub-delegation and the AirOps base in Abuja.
You will be responsible for handling flight requests, clearances, and communications, ensuring all operations align with ICRC's humanitarian mission and logistical needs. This is a 5-month maternity cover position with the potential for future assignments.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Handle flight requests, flight notifications, and security clearances.
- Manage passenger, cargo, and mail services to and from the airport.
- Liaise with logistics and other departments regarding aircraft movements and schedules.
- Inform Air Ops and Logistics about any flight delays.
- Maintain professional contacts with local authorities and follow official procedures.
- Oversee the Air Ops database and process flight bookings.
- Produce daily manifests, flight routing, and flight notifications.
- Coordinate with the main delegation and sub-delegations on aircraft schedules and changes.
- Inform passengers about pickup times for various flights.
- Handle all documents related to air operations.
- Channel relevant information and produce messages and letters independently.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Aviation Management or a related field.
- A combination of education, professional training, and certification in air transport.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible flight operations work experience.
- Advanced level in computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of Flight planning systems.
- Excellent communication skills (English - written and oral).
- Valid working permit to work in Nigeria.
