Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join our team on a 9-month contract, with the potential for a permanent role. This hybrid position, based in VI, Lagos, offers an exciting opportunity to drive product strategy and execution in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for owning product roadmaps, balancing diverse needs, and collaborating with engineering and marketing to ensure successful product delivery. You will conduct user research, develop detailed product requirements, and work closely with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
Your contributions will be crucial in identifying opportunities to enhance engagement, retention, and monetization, while also managing technical debt and improving internal tooling.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Own product roadmaps across platforms and products.
- Balance editorial, commercial, and technical needs without losing focus.
- Work with engineering and marketing to ensure metrics are tracked and interpreted correctly.
- Build dashboards and reporting structures that leadership can actually use.
- Conduct user research with readers, subscribers, and internal stakeholders.
- Develop product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate closely with design and engineering to deliver intuitive, high-quality experiences.
- Work closely with editorial, growth, commercial, and technology teams to align product execution with organizational priorities.
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and product reviews.
- Act as the primary point of coordination between business needs and technical delivery.
- Translate strategy into clear requirements and milestones.
- Support engineering with well-defined briefs and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure timely delivery of product features and improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve engagement, retention, monetization, and operational efficiency.
- Manage technical debt and continuously improve internal tooling where needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Product Management certification (e.g. Pragmatic Institute, Product School)
- 4 - 7 years experience in product management, preferably in media, technology, or digital platforms.
- A product portfolio demonstrating prior work, which may include: Product roadmaps, PRDs, or user stories; Case studies showing problem definition, discovery, execution, and outcomes; Screenshots, prototypes, or links to live products.
- Strong understanding of agile development processes and product discovery frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in fast-moving environments.
- Proficient at managing and resolving ambiguity.
