Job Description

We are seeking a diligent Safety Officer to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across our facilities.

Your responsibilities will include implementing robust HSE policies, conducting essential safety inductions for staff, tenants, and contractors, and meticulously overseeing compliance with PPE usage and work permit regulations. You will also manage environmental aspects, waste disposal, and conduct daily facility inspections to maintain a secure and pristine environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement safety policies and procedures of the company
  • Carry out Health and Safety Induction for new workers, Tenants and Staff
  • Responsible for Environmental Compliance and Waste Disposal on site and Staff Quarters
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) issuance and monitoring and ensure compliance to usage
  • Sub-contractors manpower recording and work permit registration and filing
  • Daily inspection of all facilities on the floors
  • File HSE reports and records
  • Notify the Facilities Manager if any HSE issues arise and report daily
  • Conduct and monitor contractors for compliance with PPE regulations, and follow the company safety program
  • Coordinate with other departments on all the new staff hired on-site
  • Responsible for the daily housekeeping maintenance of the locker room, toilet, and entrance access road (common areas)
  • Oversee the security guards to ensure they are on their bits
  • Monitor the fire alarm systems and maintain all safety equipment
  • Monitor the CCTV footage when the need arises
  • Conduct safety induction for contractors on site
  • Inspect the facilities and ensure no contractor without an approved Work Permit is allowed to carry out any work
  • Daily record of all staff and tenants at the Premises for record purposes
  • Record, report and investigate any form of incident/accident in the plaza

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in this position
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations, standards and compliance
  • A minimum of Higher National Diploma degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field
  • HSE certifications (HSE 1,2,3)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is added advantage
  • Risk assessment proficiency and strong analytical skill
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations
  • Crisis management and first aid knowledge
