Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT NO: 182167) since June 2022, ECM operates in both emergency and developmental contexts. The organization strategically identifies and addresses critical gaps that impact populations and increase vulnerability, bridging these through resource-based planning and implementation. Currently, ECM is implementing the Resilient Energy and Nature Empowerment for Women (RENEW) Michika project in Michika LGA, Adamawa State. This initiative specifically empowers women through clean energy training, ecosystem restoration, and community resilience building. The project aims to combat deforestation, reduce indoor air pollution, and alleviate gendered energy poverty, fostering sustainable development and improved living standards.

Job Description

Elela-Care Humanitarian and Development Organization is seeking a dedicated Project Officer to join our team and lead initiatives focused on climate resilience in Michika LGA, Adamawa State.

This role is integral to the success of our Resilient Energy and Nature Empowerment for Women (RENEW) project. You will be responsible for implementing programs that empower women through clean energy training, ecosystem restoration, and community resilience building, directly addressing critical environmental and social challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage climate resilience activities within the RENEW Michika project.
  • Facilitate clean energy training sessions for women.
  • Oversee and contribute to ecosystem restoration efforts.
  • Build and strengthen community resilience through targeted programs.
  • Monitor project progress and report on key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders and community members.
  • Ensure project activities align with ECM's mission and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in climate resilience or development.
  • Strong understanding of environmental issues, clean energy, and ecosystem restoration.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly women.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and reporting tools.
  • A degree in Environmental Science, Development Studies, or a related field is an advantage.
