Job Description
Poa-Adit Nigeria Ltd is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management and commercial activities for our diverse construction projects. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate cost estimations, effective budget control, and maximizing project value.
You will be responsible for preparing detailed bills of quantities, conducting site valuations, and administering contracts. Your expertise will be vital in monitoring project costs, managing variations and claims, and ensuring timely payment certifications.
The ideal candidate will also contribute to procurement strategies, scrutinize material costs, and liaise with stakeholders to ensure project profitability and compliance with industry standards, including ISO 9001:2015.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all cost management and commercial activities across building and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and tender documents.
- Conduct site measurements and valuations, ensuring accuracy.
- Monitor and control project costs, track variances, and provide cost-to-completion reports.
- Administer contracts, including variations, claims, and payment certifications.
- Maintain controlled documentation for all QS activities in line with ISO 9001:2015.
- Review construction plans and prepare quantity requirements.
- Maximize project margin and add value through proactive involvement in procurement and cost management.
- Carry out monthly financial reviews (CVRs) and forecast final outturn values.
- Scrutinize maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts.
- Liaise with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Prepare reports, analyses, budgets, and risk assessments.
- Advise managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
- Negotiate and submit final accounts to clients and subcontractors.
- Prepare interim and final payment certificates.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to validate material costs and quotations.
- Support risk assessment activities by providing cost-related data.
- Generate cost reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
- Ensure audit readiness by maintaining accurate cost records.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of financial data.
Qualifications
- First Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- MSc or MBA in Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ project experience in the construction industry.
- Registered with the Quantity Surveyor Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN).
- A member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyor (NIQS).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Basic knowledge of construction contracts.
