Job Description

Suacasa is seeking a qualified Safety Officer to join our team in Lagos. This critical role is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant working environment across all our construction sites.

You will be tasked with developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs. This includes conducting thorough risk assessments, investigating incidents, and providing essential safety training to all site personnel to foster a robust safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement site-specific safety plans and procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
Perform risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.

Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and standards.

Qualifications

BSc / HND in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related disciplines.
NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or other recognized safety certification is required.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in construction health and safety management.
Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
Expertise in risk assessment and hazard identification.
Proficiency in incident investigation and reporting skills.
Ability in safety training and team engagement.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Effective leadership and communication skills.
Professional membership with relevant safety bodies is an added advantage.
