Financial Controller (SME - IT Services)

This role is within an SME operating in the IT Services sector in Lagos. The company is focused on providing technology solutions and services to its clients. As a growing entity, the company requires strong financial oversight to manage its operations, tax obligations, and strategic financial planning effectively. The emphasis is on robust accounting practices and compliance with Nigerian tax laws, including the upcoming NTA 2025 digital requirements.

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead the financial operations of a growing SME in the IT services sector, based in Lagos.

This pivotal role involves overseeing all tax matters, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and PAYE, with a specific focus on compliance with NTA 2025 digital requirements. You will also manage core accounting operations such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and payroll.

A key responsibility will be the preparation of IFRS-compliant financial statements, alongside driving budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial strategy. Strengthening internal controls and maintaining accurate financial records are paramount to this position.

The ideal candidate must possess ACA (ICAN) or ACCA certification and have a minimum of 5 years of post-NYSC experience. At least 2 years of experience in a senior finance role within an SME is required, along with strong expertise in Nigerian tax laws, particularly NTA 2025. Proficiency in ERP software, preferably Odoo, and advanced Excel skills are essential.
