Job Description

Oilserv Group is seeking an experienced Assets Supervisor to oversee the effective management and maintenance of all company assets. This critical role ensures maximum operational uptime and adherence to divisional and company objectives.

You will be responsible for supervising asset teams, maintaining accurate asset registers, monitoring asset conditions, and coordinating necessary repairs or replacements. A key aspect of this position involves proactively identifying and mitigating potential user-induced damages through effective training and policy enforcement.

The Assets Supervisor will also play a vital role in preparing reports, supporting strategic decision-making regarding asset investments and retirement, and ensuring all assets are compliant with statutory documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage all activities to ensure assets are serviceable and uptime is maximized.
  • Proactively manage potentials for user-induced damages and mal-operation of assets.
  • Supervise asset teams and manage asset registers.
  • Monitor asset conditions and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Enforce asset usage policies and prepare reports.
  • Support strategic decision-making regarding asset investments and retirement.
  • Provide details to the Assets Coordinator for necessary reports.
  • Ensure assets maintenance schedules are compiled and operability status is clearly identified.
  • Ensure all assets have up-to-date statutory documents.
  • Carry out incident investigations involving assets.
  • Develop and implement training schedules for asset users.
  • Develop modalities to continually improve asset availability.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance workloads to optimize resource utilization.
  • Provide technical reference for all asset/technical issues and coach asset staff.
  • Identify and deliver operational cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for asset reliability and optimization.
  • Regularly update asset registers and submit weekly reports.
  • Ensure all asset costs are captured and posted appropriately.
  • Execute reception and issuance processes to meet target deadlines.
  • Make inputs to pre-acquisition processes and implement post-acquisition decisions.
  • Provide details for invoicing and budgeting.
  • Develop measuring tools to evaluate asset optimization.
  • Enforce company’s unique asset identification.
  • Conduct annual physical verification and inventory of assets.
  • Analyze fault matrices to identify trends and recommend remedial actions.
  • Conduct market surveys on lease rates and recommend accordingly.
  • Model assets full operating lifecycle and measure present status against the model.
  • Advise on risk potentials of assets and recommend remedial actions.
  • Conduct detailed inspection of construction equipment annually.
  • Conduct detailed inspection of vehicles bi-annually.
  • Execute effective predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure zero LTI and Fatality while carrying out activities.
  • Ensure project deadlines are met on all requisition activities.
  • Manage supplier delivery performance and maintain supplier contracts.
  • Undertake periodic measurement of divisional KPIs and initiate actions to re-align them.

Qualifications

  • HND / B.Sc. in Social Science
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in Maintenance and Assets Management
  • Professional membership is an added advantage
