Job Description

Peter Lucas Project Management Inc. is seeking a dedicated Materials Management Coordinator to join their esteemed team. This role is integral to supporting operations at a heavy industrial site, ensuring the efficient management of warehouse operations, material handling, and precise inventory control within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

As a Materials Management Coordinator, you will be responsible for the meticulous receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming materials. You will efficiently pick, pack, and issue necessary supplies to site operations and maintenance teams, while diligently maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts. Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively will be a key part of your daily duties, alongside ensuring the overall organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance of the warehouse.

This position also involves supporting shipping and receiving functions, including the accurate documentation and tracking of goods. You will collaborate closely with procurement, maintenance, and site teams to guarantee material availability, and strictly adhere to all site safety procedures, promptly reporting any hazards or incidents. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards
  • Support shipping/receiving functions including documentation and tracking
  • Coordinate with procurement, maintenance, and site teams to ensure material availability
  • Follow all site safety procedures and report hazards or incidents promptly

Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse or industrial materials handling experience (mining or heavy industry preferred)
  • Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer skills for inventory systems and tracking
  • Journeyperson certification or Parts Technician Red Seal is Mandatory
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar inventory systems
