Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Control Chemist to ensure that raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate must have strong laboratory experience, sound knowledge of quality control procedures, and the ability to maintain compliance with industry and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include performing chemical and physical analysis, conducting routine laboratory tests, and operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory equipment.

You will interpret test results, prepare accurate reports, and ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory guidelines. Investigating out-of-specification results and maintaining proper laboratory records are also key aspects of this role. Adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety procedures is paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment such as pH meters, spectrophotometers, titration equipment, HPLC, GC, etc.
  • Interpret test results and prepare accurate reports and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain proper laboratory records and ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety procedures.
  • Support audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a quality control laboratory (manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical, chemical, or related industry).
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing methods and analytical techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS).
  • Good understanding of regulatory compliance and documentation standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data analysis).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
