Job Description

Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a skilled Truck Operator to join our operations at the Ibese Plant. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Heavy Equipment Mobile Vehicles (HEMVs) for transporting materials and products.

Your duties will include conducting thorough pre- and post-operational checks, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies, and maintaining accurate trip logs. You will also be tasked with optimizing routes for efficiency and monitoring fuel consumption.

We are looking for a dedicated individual with excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. This role is crucial for maintaining our logistical flow and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate HEMVs safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic rules and company policies.
  • Conduct pre- and post-operational checks on vehicles and report any malfunctions.
  • Remain calm and focused in high-stress driving situations.
  • Move materials and products to designated locations.
  • Map driving routes in advance to optimize trip expediency and fuel efficiency.
  • Monitor and document fuel consumption.
  • Maintain accurate logs for all trips and vehicle operations.
  • Complete regular checklists and report incidents promptly.
  • Schedule and coordinate regular vehicle servicing.
  • Perform routine cleaning of vehicles and assist in basic maintenance.
  • Participate in safety training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class H driving license.
  • SSCE or equivalent + 8 years’ experience.
  • Trade test II + 16 years’ experience.
  • National diploma (ND).
  • Trade test I + 8 years’ experience.
  • A high level of patience and carefulness.
  • Good communication skill.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • A Team Player and must be dedicated.
