Job Description

The Innovative Finance Initiative (IFI) is seeking passionate emerging professionals for its Knowledge & Learning Fellowship program. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of innovative finance by translating complex ideas into accessible knowledge products and learning materials.

You will play a vital role in capturing learnings, producing insights, and sharing knowledge across IFI's global community. This position is perfect for individuals excited by research, writing, knowledge management, and the challenge of making cutting-edge financial innovation concepts clear and actionable for diverse audiences.

Fellowship options include a remote arrangement with a monthly stipend and flexible hours, or a Cape Town-based fellowship with covered living expenses and opportunities for in-person collaboration. Both pathways offer mentorship, access to IFI programming, and training in LinkedIn content creation and AI tool experimentation.

Key Responsibilities

Support 2-3 IFI Missions with facilitation, research, and knowledge capture.
Create session recaps, synthesis documents, and shareouts for mission members.
Conduct targeted research on innovative finance topics, tools, and case studies.
Draft outputs for review and feedback by mission members (reports, briefings, frameworks).
Help identify and document emerging insights, patterns, and learnings from mission work.
Design diagnostic tools, assessment frameworks, and learning materials.
Produce short reports, white papers, and research briefs on priority topics.
Create compelling LinkedIn posts and social media content showcasing IFI insights.
Design infographics and visual knowledge products that make complex concepts accessible.
Develop inputs for training programs (both in-person workshops and virtual sessions).
Experiment with AI tools to enhance research synthesis and content creation.
Create engaging content from community conversations, events, and mission outputs.
Support newsletter, blog, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Conduct landscape research on innovative finance trends, tools, and emerging practices.
Analyze case studies and synthesize learnings across geographies and sectors.
Support literature reviews and evidence synthesis for knowledge products.
Help identify knowledge gaps and research priorities across IFI's work.

Qualifications

Strong research skills and ability to write clearly for diverse audiences.
Comfortable distilling complex information into key insights and actionable takeaways.
Genuine curiosity about innovative finance, impact investing, and systems change.
Ability to manage multiple projects, track outputs, and meet deadlines.
Clear communicator comfortable working with practitioners, funders, and ecosystem leaders.
Interest in leveraging AI and digital tools for knowledge management.
Bonus: Experience with knowledge management, educational content, training design, or visual communication.
