Job Description
Dangote Cement is seeking a diligent Store Specialist to join their team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the meticulous management of material issuance to production, maintenance, and site projects.
Your day-to-day will involve ensuring that materials are accurately selected, released promptly, and properly documented. This position is crucial for maintaining the smooth and uninterrupted flow of plant operations by preventing stock losses and misuse.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily issuing activities to production, maintenance, and contractors according to approved requisitions, job cards, and work orders.
- Verify requisitions for authorization, specification, and availability before issue; escalate discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate picking, kitting, and staging of materials; maintain FIFO/FEFO discipline where applicable.
- Issue materials using ERP/WMS picking and issuing modules and ensure issue documents are complete and archived.
- Control issuance of critical spares and high-value items; implement approval matrix for controlled material releases.
- Work with Planning and Maintenance to prioritize urgent breakdown/spare requests and expedite issuance when required.
- Supervise the issuing team, including training, rostering, performance appraisals, and coaching.
- Conduct regular physical checks of issuing points and satellite stores, and reconcile differences with central stores records.
- Minimize theft, pilferage, and unauthorized issuance through access control and strict sign-off procedures.
- Support preventive stock level reviews and suggest reorder/critical level adjustments based on usage trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification (CIPS, CIPSMN, APICS, SCMP).
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in store operations.
- Strong process discipline and accountability.
- Good knowledge of spare parts identification and technical reading of part numbers.
- Customer-service orientation towards internal stakeholders (maintenance/production).
- Numerical accuracy and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage emergency demands.
