Job Description
Tetra Maritime is seeking a dedicated Junior Legal Officer to join our team in Apapa, Lagos. This role is an excellent opportunity for an emerging legal professional to gain practical experience within the dynamic maritime industry.
You will be instrumental in supporting our legal department with a range of responsibilities, including company secretarial duties, managing statutory filings, and preparing corporate documentation. Your work will also involve ensuring compliance with KYC regulations and assisting with cross-border corporate changes.
We are looking for candidates with a solid foundation in legal and compliance principles, ideally with exposure to the shipping, commodities, or financial services sectors. An advantage will be given to those with experience interacting with ship registries or overseas registries.

- Assist with company secretarial duties.

Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a legal, compliance, corporate services, or financial services environment.
- Experience in shipping, commodities, finance, or SPV-heavy groups is advantageous.
- Exposure to company secretarial duties, statutory filings, and corporate registry submissions.
- Familiarity with corporate authorities and board documentation.
- Knowledge of KYC and compliance procedures.
- Experience with cross-border corporate changes and restructurings.
- Interaction with ship registries or overseas registries is advantageous.
- Experience with joint ventures and other corporate matters.
