Job Description

News Central is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Logistics Officer to join our dynamic team.

In this vital role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of all logistical operations supporting our news gathering and broadcast activities. You will manage the movement of personnel, equipment, and resources, ensuring our teams can operate effectively in the field and deliver compelling content.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily logistics for news assignments, live broadcasts, and special coverage.
Arrange transportation for reporters, producers, camera operators, and technical crew.
Manage logistics for outstation and emergency deployments, including travel and accommodation.
Ensure timely movement and return of broadcast equipment to and from field locations.
Oversee the use, scheduling, and maintenance of company vehicles.
Monitor fuel usage, vehicle logs, and driver assignments.
Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with safety regulations.
Liaise with News, Production, Engineering, and Security teams to anticipate logistics needs.
Respond promptly to breaking news and urgent logistics requests.
Maintain effective communication with drivers, vendors, and field teams.
Prepare and maintain logistics records, trip schedules, and asset movement logs.
Process logistics-related requests, approvals, and reports.
Support budget tracking for logistics expenses and vendor invoices.
Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Support risk assessment and logistics planning for high-risk or sensitive assignments.
Assist with emergency response logistics when required.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Logistics Officer or in a similar operational support role.
Strong understanding of transportation, fleet management, and equipment logistics.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with documentation and reporting.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance procedures.
