Job Description
Globe Telly Services is seeking a creative, organized, and data-driven Social Media Manager to significantly enhance our online presence. This role is pivotal in building a vibrant community and driving engagement for our television production and news content across various digital platforms.
You will be responsible for managing all our social media channels, including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X, ensuring consistent posting and prompt interaction with our audience. Your strategic approach will involve developing monthly content calendars, conceptualizing engaging ideas for videos and features, and crafting compelling copy that aligns with our brand identity.
This position requires a proactive individual with basic to intermediate skills in content editing tools like Canva, CapCut, and InShot. You will also track key growth metrics, monitor industry trends, and collaborate with influencers to expand our reach. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all Globe Telly social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, website)
- Schedule and post content consistently across all platforms
- Respond to DMs, comments, and inquiries professionally and promptly
- Engage with followers to build community and trust around news and television content
- Develop and execute a monthly content strategy and calendar
- Conceptualize content ideas for videos, reels, carousels, and news features
- Create engaging, on-brand copy and captions for broadcasts, reports, and interviews
- Assist the content team using tools like Canva, CapCut, InShot (basic–intermediate level)
- Support behind-the-scenes content from field reporting and studio production
- Ensure all content aligns with brand identity and editorial tone before posting
- Work closely with reporters, videographers, and editors to repurpose broadcast content for social media
- Track growth metrics: reach, impressions, follows, saves, conversions, watch time
- Monitor competitors and industry trends in news media and digital journalism
- Identify and collaborate with micro-influencers and media personalities
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of social media management experience, ideally in media, news, or broadcasting
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and creator-style content
- Experience using scheduling tools
- Strong written English with modern, journalistic brand voice
- Basic knowledge of content editing tools like Canva, CapCut, InShot (not advanced)
- Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools
- Analytical mindset with ability to present insights
- High energy, proactive, organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative news environment
- Portfolio is mandatory (applications without a portfolio will not be considered)
