Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to join our team in Lagos.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, managing accounts receivable and payable, and preparing comprehensive financial reports. You will also perform bank reconciliations, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and accounting standards.

Your duties will include monitoring project costs, supporting audits, and maintaining fixed asset registers. You will also liaise with internal departments and clients to resolve financial queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, journals, and general ledgers.
  • Prepare, review, and process customer invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing in line with contract terms.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and reconcile customer accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and ensure timely payment of vendors and suppliers.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Monitor project costs and prepare cost analysis reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax regulations, statutory remittances, IFRS, and company financial policies.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing the required financial documentation.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and other accounting records.
  • Liaise with internal departments and clients to resolve invoicing, payment, and reconciliation issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ accounting experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas servicing industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) or active pursuit of certification is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
