Job Description

Estithmar Holding Q.P.S.C. is seeking a highly accomplished Chief Accountant to lead its financial operations in Qatar.

This pivotal role involves overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring meticulous accuracy, integrity, and strict adherence to both accounting standards and regulatory mandates. You will be instrumental in supervising and mentoring the accounting team, fostering an environment of high performance and professional development to guarantee precise and timely financial reporting.

A key responsibility will be the development and implementation of robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls designed to protect company assets and effectively mitigate financial risks. Furthermore, you will manage crucial relationships with external parties, including auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies, ensuring seamless compliance with all audit requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to maintain a high level of productivity and professionalism within the team.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and safeguard Company assets.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management and stakeholders.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments, to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicators, to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, such as department heads and business unit leaders, to provide financial guidance, support, and expertise as needed.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance and alignment with best practices in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Professional Qualification in Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
