Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team and contribute to our financial operations.

Your responsibilities will encompass managing the budgeting process, including the preparation and submission of updated budgets for management approval, and monitoring divisional run rates.

You will be integral to the Finance, Accounts, and Treasury Operations, focusing on resource allocation, bookkeeping, financial control, management reporting, revenue assurance, and treasury operations. This includes managing the asset and liability framework, identifying operational software needs, and overseeing the budgeting process and fixed assets.

Furthermore, you will handle audit and tax planning, ensure accurate statutory returns and remittances, and manage treasury operations and asset/liability management.

In Financial Reporting & Analysis, you will prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports, including monthly profit and loss forecasts by division and weekly cash flow forecasts. You will also be responsible for the preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements.

Your role will involve reviewing all month-end closing activities, such as general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliation, and corporate/overhead cost allocation. You will also enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.

As a key point of contact for external auditors, you will manage the preparation and support for all external audits. Additionally, you will oversee payment approvals and authorizations, ensure checks and balances in payroll activities before disbursement, and maintain financial security through adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial planning.
  • Experience with treasury operations and asset/liability management.
  • Knowledge of audit and tax planning.
  • Familiarity with statutory returns and remittances.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
